Thanks to the approximately 700 people who made the first annual Hip-Hop in the Park a total success. The free, eight-hour, all-ages show received countless praise from its attendees–both those who planned on being there and had their expectations met or exceeded, and those who were strolling by, dropped in, and were pleasantly surprised. I believe that with your help we both represented Hip-Hop culture as a positive movement, and set a precedent for western Canadian rap.
And yet with the months of planning and hours of set-up and take-down gone, we’re still not ready to let this remarkable day go away. From hip-hop in the park to hip-hop in the dark, come celebrate one hip-hop culture one more time, and help support us so that Hip-Hop in the Park 2009 is even better.
On Saturday, June 28th @ Axis Cafe (103 St. & Jasper Ave.), Hip-Hop in the Park organizers will be holding a silent auction to raise money to pay off this years show, and help fund next years too.
